System Provides Audit Trails, Tracks Spot Buys and Improves Employee Efficiency
BRADENTON, Fla., April 25, 2001 - HandySource today announced the availability of its Internet Purchase Order System, which makes creating, storing and issuing purchase orders easier and faster when buying maintenance, repair and operating supplies for the multi-housing industry.
Located on the company's Web site, www.handysource.com, the purchase order system was developed by HandySource engineers to eliminate errors and time inefficiencies that occur in the manual process while simplifying the creation of purchase orders through quicker automated functions. Instead of manually looking up vendor numbers, product numbers, and previous quantities ordered, purchasing managers are now three to four mouse clicks away from ordering MRO products using pre-existing and stored purchase orders in the Internet Purchase Order System.
Specifically, the HandySource online P.O. system features:
- The ability to save a purchase order as a template for repetitive orders;
- Customizable vendor secured database that stores names, addresses, account numbers, e-mail addresses, phone, and fax;
- History section that allows users to edit, re-submit, create new and track receiving from previously submitted purchase orders;
- Consecutive purchase order numbers that are generated through user preferences;
- Tracking of "spot" or "maverick" purchases through a detailed audit trail.
"The Internet Purchase Order System demonstrates HandySource's commitment to provide the most extensive software suite in the multi-housing market," said John Lie-Nielsen, president, HandySource. "We've designed this application to be as easy-to-use as possible by adding programmable shortcuts and minimizing the number of transaction screens. In some instances, reordering is just three clicks away."
The introduction of the Internet Purchase Order System follows the launch of another HandySource innovation, the HandySource Bid System, which gives users the opportunity to use special templates to prepare RFQs (Request for Quote) for suppliers of contractor services.
