Biometric Feature Consent and Policy

Changes have been made to the HandyTrac website and HandyTrac systems to include explicit notification, consent, and status of Biometric Data storage and usage.

To use the Biometric fingerprint login feature of a HandyTrac system, explicit consent must be given by the user to store and use Biometric data as outlined in our Biometric Information Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

The Active Employees list on the website will always display the current consent status for each employee. If an employee will not be using a biometric login, they do not need to provide consent.

There are two separate methods to provide consent: On-System or Website. Only one method is available to you, and it is automatically determined by your system configuration.

HandyTrac Premium Touch and Platinum Touch Systems

HandyTrac Premium Touch and Platinum Touch systems require consent to be provided on the system itself at the time of fingerprint registration by the employee. If consent is not provided, no fingerprint can be registered or stored.

Biometric fingerprint consent is not required to use a HandyTrac system. Standard Badges and PINs can still be used for system access.

Firmware version 2.21 or higher is required for on-system fingerprint consent.* Out of date systems will fall back to the website consent method as noted below.

On System Display During Fingerprint Registration

HandyTrac Premium Touch 1.0* and Generation 10 Biometric systems

Providing consent for older HandyTrac systems is completed on the website. Edit an employee badge and check the box to confirm consent has been obtained.

It is your responsibility to provide the full HandyTrac Biometric Information Privacy Policy to an employee for approval before obtaining consent in accordance with your state and local laws.

Editing Employee Badge on Website

Biometric data is not sold or shared with any 3rd party. Biometric data is deleted from HandyTrac systems and services by revoking consent, deactivating an employee badge, or directly requesting deletion of biometric information by contacting our support team. Biometric data may be deleted without notice to remain in compliance with our Policies and state or local law. See our full Privacy Policy for additional information. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
