Biometric Policy Updates

HandyTrac has updated its Biometric Information Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Updated: September 16th, 2024

As a result of these updates, some changes will be made to the HandyTrac website and systems to include explicit notification, consent, and status of Biometric Data storage and usage. Some of these changes are passive, however some action will be required on your part to ensure compliance with the updated policies, in addition to any state and local laws.

What is required will depend on the type of HandyTrac system you use. System updates will be deployed over the coming weeks where applicable.

As of September 16th, 2024, Touch 2 and Touch 3 system updates will be deployed to customer systems on a rolling basis.  Please see the below sections for specific system instructions.

Illinois customers are no longer required to obtain written paper consent per SB2979, which amends the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, 740 ILCS § 14/1 to include electronic signature.
