In Field Key Tag Identification

The Key Identification feature allows Premium and Platinum users to scan the barcode of a HandyTrac keytag using the HandyTrac App to quickly identify the unit key on the HandyTrac App from the Apple App Store or Google Play

When removing a large number of keys for management inspections or pest control operations, quickly identifying units greatly speeds up the process of completing multiple work orders and other large-scale projects.

Camera permission is required to use the Key Identification feature.

Select the Key Identification feature in the mobile app. Badge link required
Confirm your identity using your phone’s unlock method.
Hold the key tag barcode up to your camera to identify the unit.

Security

This is a powerful feature that allows a user to identify keys outside of standard key request operations at the system, and as a result there are strict security measures in place for using this app feature:

Every identified key tag scan will create a permanent entry on the property audit trail. This will include the Employee Badge, Key Tag Number, Unit Name, and Time.
The employee must have the In Field Key Tag Identification permission enabled for their badge.
The employee must have an active data connection on their device. This feature is not available while offline.
The employee must have a security lock screen enabled on their device. The unlock method (Face ID, Biometric scan, Password, PIN, or Pattern) must be used to gain access to this feature.
The identified key tag history log is only available on the device for 15 minutes.
Only key tags that are active in the system will be recognized.
Unassigned key tags, former key tags, or key tags from a secondary site will be rejected.
Further investigation may be required using the online reporting tools available to administrators.
